Exploration Find Harmony between MInimalism and MId-Century Modernism
How can the flow of a small space be improved to create the center of a house? How can a mid-century modern house like this be updated without clashing with the original style?

Solution
Separation and Connection: The entry was further cut-off from the kitchen to deflect the flow of traffic away from the kitchen / family area. But the kitchen and family area were connected more by turning the peninsula into an island and reducing its height.

Keep it clean: The bamboo cabinetry, appliances, flooring, and countertops were designed with clean, simple lines. They make a subtle statement that helps emphasize the vetrazzo backsplash.

Upgrade as you replace: Not only was the kitchen upgraded with all the modern conveniences, the plate glass single pane windows were all replaced with tempered, insulated units, and the vinyl sliding glass doors were replaced with Fleetwoods (in different locations, to match the flow of the kitchen).
